Come and explore the beautiful, unspoilt island of Evia and experience a traditional way of life long gone from most of Greece.
Evia, Greeces' second largest island is still relatively undiscovered and offers a variety of fascinating historical monuments and stunning scenery.
Enjoy delicious cuisine in seaside tavernas and mountain villages.Observe some of the local specialties being prepared for us to taste. Sample homemade products such as pastelli (sesame and honey sweet), cheeses, meat and vegetable dishes and the traditional pasta – kourkoubines. Fish too, as from ancient times Evia has been known as one of the most important fishing areas in Greece. And naturally, wine and olives!
Walk along ancient donkey paths amongst Roman ruins, medieval castles and Byzantine churches. Take a sunset cruise on a fishing boat and swim from beautiful beaches in Homer’s “wine dark Aegean Sea ”.
Our tour begins and ends in Athens and we’ll have a guided walk through the ancient city before catching the ferry to southern Evia. The next three nights are in the seaside town of Nea Styra. Our friendly family run hotel – the Delfini - is right on the sea shore.
Our final 3 nights are in the historic southernmost town of Karystos, where we stay at the Hotel Karystion, also on the waterfront and known for its friendly service.
